Week 21 - A Little Boy Pinched My Nose
Friends & Family,
This was literally the longest most tiring week of my life. hhahahaha i love it. it makes sleeping even more enjoyable. imagine that lol.
So a few things happened. On Tuesday we were walking down the street and the cutest little Gypsy boy was riding on the shoulders of his gypsy grandpa, then with know words they stopped in front of us. Now I don't know if you know this but gypsies like to steal from the missionaries and are known for you know, throwing their babies at you then taking all your stuff while you catch their baby, anyways i was scared i was like oh no here we go whats going down, but the cutest thing happened. this little boy reaches out to sister ogden for her face and gives her nose the cutest little pinch and with the biggest smile on his face, then he turns to me and does the same exact thing. we almost died it was the cutest thing of my life!!!!!
Probably one of the most exciting things this week was buying a pen thats worth 3 euros and its probably the most satisfying purchase i've ever made so thats great. I also have callouses on my knees from praying so much. i guess that tells you how much I prayed on my knees before the mission!
We are teaching two people in the hospital and that place is literally my worst nightmare hahaha so thats great but they're both going to get baptized so thats great.
Now here is the story that youve all been waiting for. Last night we were walking the cold abandoned streets of Portugal when we get a phone call from a member who's literally always drunk... anyways he says "sisters my sister needs help i don't know what to do can you guys please come here and help her?" and so we were like "what kind of help?" and he says "spiritual help" so at this point were talking together sister ogden and i going "ok cool so like do you want to ask her to baptized or should I?" that type of thing and we get to her house or at least to the place that he described where her house was and it was the most sketchy place of my life. there was nothing but a dirt road one light and some shack like houses. immediately i just get a pit in my stomach (the holy ghost) like we should not be here so we called the elders to come meet us there, but during our phone call we see a man down the road calling to us and he says "come here, theres nothing to be scared of we just need help" and thats something that someone says when theres something scary so we told the elders to come ASAP. so anyways we did what we probably shouldn't have done and we follow this man to the house and the whole time just with the worst feeling we should have turned around, but we get to the house and all the men exit the house so we are alone and they tell us what room she's in. we go in there and she looks awful ok and the feeling in there was horrible the worst feeling I've ever felt and she's yelling at us to hold her hand and we are like ummmm heck no and sister ogden goes we need to leave right now so we leave and she says in english "she's possessed" and we never speak english to each other so i knew this was real. so we call the elders again and they get there and the men are describing to the elders what's going on and how this lady is acting strange and has only been drinking alcohol for the past 3 days and can't eat and one of the elders turns to us and says "go home now" so we went home and the elders took care of everything. Wow i am grateful for good choices and the priesthood. where would we be without those two things?!!
Well, I miss you all! Have a great week!

* A note from Mom:
Although Sister Delgado's story ended safely, it's best to turn around when you feel a "pit in your stomach" and the Holy Ghost tells you to leave somewhere. We are grateful for her and Sister Ogden's safety. We asked her what happened when the Elders arrived and she said they cast out the evil spirit in the name of Jesus Christ and said a blessing on the woman's home. They said the evil spirit immediately left the house and all who were there felt peace.
